Keep Advocating: McConnell announces vote on ACA repeal and delay date TBD Cindy Smith 17 Jul 2017 23:48 EDT

Hello,

I do not have any more details then what is in the press, but with Lee and Moran announcing their opposition to the current bill, McConnell is planning to now vote on a full repeal and two year delay of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Keep the calls, emails, tweets, Facebook posts, faxes and op-EDs going to all Senate offices. If they are going to vote on a straight repeal in the coming days, I would suggest asking people to focus their messages on the importance of ACA to people with IDD, a few examples:

- I have health coverage that covers habilitation or rehabilitation services because of the ACA.

- I have a pre-existing condition and cannot be denied coverage and benefits because of the ACA.

- I do not have to worry about losing coverage due to lifetime caps because of the ACA.

Keep it up! More to come...Thanks for all the advocacy!

Cindy

>> Senators Lee and Moran came out this evening opposing the bill "in its current form." That means McConnell doesn't have the votes to proceed. Our strong advocacy is more important now than ever. Keep up the calls, the emails, the visits, the rallies, and the protests. We'll keep you updated.
