State DD Councils,

Today kicks off the ABLE National Resource Center's #ABLEtoSave Month. #ABLEtoSave will be a month long national public awareness campaign aimed at blanketing the county with ABLE related information and education!

Since the launch of the first ABLE program in June of 2016, there has been an estimated 10,000 ABLE accounts opened across the country, with a cumulative savings of over $25 million (dedicated to disability related expenses).  While this is exciting, we believe there could be as many as 10 million ABLE eligible individuals nationwide.  In order to spur enrollment and ultimately encourage the opportunity for people with disabilities, and their families, to build a more sound economic future, it is important that we facilitate the awareness of these special tax advantaged savings account.

Over the next month we will be releasing a wide array of various ABLE related materials in multiple formats.  We ask that your organization please help us get these materials to your networks.  Below is the email announcement of the campaign and the following link will take you to our “outreach toolkit”, which includes materials explaining the campaign that you can include in e-newsletters, email blasts, and social media posts:    http://www.ablenrc.org/resources/materials-abletosave-campaign.  Additionally, the following link is the landing page of the campaign: http://ablenrc.org/road-map-enrollment.

Thank you all for your willingness to help and please let me know if you have any questions!

Chris
