As you may have seen, Betsey Devos was confirmed was Secretary of Education a few minutes ago by a vote of 50-50. Vice President Pence placed the deciding voting. All of the Democrats along with Senator’s Murkowski and Collins voted no. Please consider reaching out to offices to thank them for supporting the importance of public education for all students including students with disabilities. As Leader McConnell needed Jeff Sessions vote on Betsey Devos, and once confirmed he is unable to vote as a Senator, it is expected that they will move on to his debate and votes on his confirmation process later in the day.
