In just over an hour we'll be starting our quarterly policy call for the NACDD network. Remember to call in today, Tuesday, December 10, 2:00-3:00pm Eastern Time. The call-in number is 800-832-0736 and passcode is 6261788.

New speaker! I'm excited to announce we have an additional speaker for the call today!  In addition to hearing from Sheryl Grossman from NCIL, we will also hear from Kelly Israel, a Policy Analyst at the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network (ASAN) national office. Kelly is a graduate of American University, Washington College of Law and served as student attorney in its Disability Rights Law Clinic. In that capacity she was legal counsel for clients with disabilities in a wide variety of cases, including special education and ADA reasonable accommodations issues.

Materials for call. I've attached a document that Sheryl will be discussing when she talks about why people with disabilities need to be more involved in the environmental movement. If you have a chance, take a look. You can also take a look at the recent report from NCD on Preserving Our Freedom: Ending Institutionalization of People with Disabilities During and After Disasters.

Sincerely,

Erin Prangley
