The Representative Payee<http://SSA.pr-optout.com/Tracking.aspx?Data=HHL%3d%3a37%2fA4-%3eLCE1%3b%2b43.LP%3f%40083%3a&RE=IN&RI=1892610&Preview=False&DistributionActionID=354192&Action=Follow+Link> Program provides financial management for Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries who are incapable of managing their Social Security or SSI payments.

As part of the upcoming National Disability Forum<http://SSA.pr-optout.com/Tracking.aspx?Data=HHL%3d%3a37%2fA4-%3eLCE1%3b%2b43.LP%3f%40083%3a&RE=IN&RI=1892610&Preview=False&DistributionActionID=354191&Action=Follow+Link>, we are exploring ideas to improve our instructions for the Representative Payment Program and want to hear from you! Your input is important and needed on how we can identify beneficiaries who can direct the management of their own benefits. Below are some of the questions from our online engagement tool IdeaScale.<http://SSA.pr-optout.com/Tracking.aspx?Data=HHL%3d%3a37%2fA4-%3eLCE1%3b%2b43.LP%3f%40083%3a&RE=IN&RI=1892610&Preview=False&DistributionActionID=354190&Action=Follow+Link>

  * How should we assess a beneficiary’s ability to direct the management of his or her benefits?
  * Are there certain questions we should ask beneficiaries in order to determine their ability to direct the management of their own benefits?
  * Are there indicators that a beneficiary is not able to direct management of his or her benefits?

Let your voice be heard! You can provide input on the IdeaScale<http://SSA.pr-optout.com/Tracking.aspx?Data=HHL%3d%3a37%2fA4-%3eLCE1%3b%2b43.LP%3f%40083%3a&RE=IN&RI=1892610&Preview=False&DistributionActionID=354189&Action=Follow+Link> from now until Friday, April 6, 2018. Attached is the IdeaScale guide.

If you have any questions, please contact Joie Hill at xxxxxx@ssa.gov<mailto:xxxxxx@ssa.gov>.

Again, your input is important and we greatly appreciate all of your support.

Sincerely,

Bob Patterson
