The Utah Developmental Disabilities Council is pleased to announce the selection of Libby Oseguera as its next Executive Director. She will begin on April 2, 2018 and receive a brief orientation from Claire Mantonya, who is retiring after many wonderful years of service to the Council. Libby has worked to remove barriers and grow self‐advocacy for Utahans with disabilities through adaptive recreation, job coaching and many years of advocacy programing, policy work and active engagement in systems change for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas followed by a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills  and has given 16 years to public service.  Congratulations Libby!

The Rhode Island Developmental Disabilities Council is pleased to announce the hiring of their new Executive Director, Kevin Nerney. He is an attorney with experience in Education and Civil Rights. He has served as Associate Director of the Council since 2012, and for the past 14 months, following the retirement of our previous Director, he has been the acting Executive Director while the Council conducted the search for a permanent person. He has developed positive working relationships with stakeholder groups that include people with disabilities and their families, providers and government agencies. He has a comprehensive grasp of the law and the rights of individuals with disabilities, and he has the empathy and passion to want to make a difference.  Congratulations Kevin!
