Tell the Federal Government How to Improve Voting for Americans with Disabilities

In March 2021, President Biden issued an Executive Order<https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/03/07/executive-order-on-promoting-access-to-voting/> on promoting access to voting in America. As a result, federal agencies, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), are analyzing the barriers to a private and independent vote for people with disabilities, including access to voter registration, voting technology, voting by mail, polling locations, and poll worker training.

Now NIST wants to hear from you! NIST is looking to hear from you to inform the development of recommendations to address the barriers it has identified that prevent people with disabilities from exercising their fundamental rights and ability to vote privately and independently. The deadline to submit your comments is July 16th

To help NIST analyze the barriers faced by voters with disabilities and to improve voting access for Americans with disabilities, please respond to the following questions and include your answers in the Comment* field below:
* What barriers do people with disabilities encounter while voting in America?
* What systems/processes enable voters with disabilities to vote privately and independently in the United States?
* How can the United States improve voter access for people with disabilities?
