NACDD Request for Proposals Robin Troutman 26 Jan 2021 13:12 EST
NACDD has received a grant to promote an exciting and important advocacy campaign on the importance of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. This campaign will be designed to inform people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD), their families, and their caregivers (family or other).

DD Councils have begun surveying their constituencies and finding that there is great fear, lack of good information, and general distrust of the COVID-19 vaccine among much of the populations. Most surprisingly, we are also learning that the fear or distrust is not only coming from people with I/DD, but also from their Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).

Our focus areas

  1.  Development of branded and vetted resources for the campaign including a new web page to be part of the NACDD website and its other websites including StartYourJourney and OneVoteNow;
  2. Public Awareness through media coverage about the importance of the vaccine to include traditional media and disability-friendly publications as well as social media; and
  3. A series of webinars or Townhall-style events aimed at the new GOTV, "getting out the vaccine" campaign.
About Us: NACDD is a non-partisan, non-profit, equal opportunity national organization that serves as the national voice for our 56 State and Territorial Councils on Developmental Disabilities. We have a small but mighty staff with a national office located in Washington, DC. We have received a grant to make this upgrade to the OVN website and any accompanying live events, webinars or creative ways to reach people. Our organization has been around for nearly 50 years and our member Councils were established through federal legislation 50 years ago. Our mission is to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live life to the fullest extent possible in their community and to be active participants in all aspects of civic and community engagement. We do this through policy, advocacy, and building awareness. See our website at www.nacdd.org<http://www.nacdd.org>
What We Want to Know About You:
We want to know about your experience in being able to quickly and effectively develop platforms and on-line ways to get important information and materials out to people who need them. We are anxious to hear your creative solutions and your expertise in understanding how to make everything for this site accessible for people with all kinds of disabilities. We want to work with a team that is eager, excited and creative and ready to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities get the information needed about the COVID-19 vaccine.
Deadline for proposal submission is February 8th. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please submit a letter of intent by February 1st so that we know to expect a proposal.
