Disability Policy Seminar 2020-- CANCELLED
Donna Meltzer 11 Mar 2020 14:00 EDT
Today, in response to information and guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Disability Policy Seminar sponsoring partners announce it is necessary to cancel the 2020 Disability Policy Seminar (DPS).
We recognize all the hard work that so many have put into preparing for DPS and the critical importance of bringing the voices of the disability community to Washington, but the evolving circumstances including the WHO declaring a global pandemic, travel bans, quarantines and identified high risk to people with some types of disabilities make it clear that it would be an unacceptable risk to bring so many people together this month.
This will be the first time that the DPS event has been cancelled, but it is now clear that cancellation is unavoidable in order to protect members of the disability community and continue our important work.
Next Steps:
* We will not be hosting any in-person activities at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C. If you have not already cancelled your travel arrangements, please do so, unless you are intending to be in DC for other reasons.
* If you were planning to take part in a side meeting or additional partner event, please connect with the sponsors of those events for next steps.
* Attendees will be contacted with further information regarding conference registrations already paid.
