Dear NACDD Network:

It is with a heavy heart and intense sadness that I share with you the news of the sudden passing of Dawn Alfred. Dawn was the Public Policy Director for the Georgia DD Council and an incredible advocate both in Georgia and on our national scene. Dawn was an active member of the NACDD Public Policy Committee and frequent presenter and contributor to many of our national conversations. Mostly recently she was involved in our activities around Director Support Professionals/Caregivers. Dawn died suddenly on Monday of this week. As was said by many on the  website here, Dawn was a lovely, sweet and kind woman who was pure of heart and worked diligently to make the world a better place for all.
