I don’t know if we share enough stories about the ways us Councils work together so just wanted to give a little fun story for a Monday. Wisconsin is hosting their self-advocacy conference in October at the Wisconsin Dells. We are sending Cindy, a board member from our self-advocacy network, to this conference. She will be flying into Madison then either Beth or one of Beth’s staff will be picking her up at the hotel and driving her to the Dells (45 min from Madison) so we don’t have to worry about transportation. They will also bring Cindy back to the airport when the conference is over. This is such a stress reliever on me and Cindy!! I just think it’s so cool they have helped us out like this, especially since all this is going on when I’m on maternity leave so this really helps ease my worries. Just want to give Beth and Wisconsin DD Council a shout out for their willingness to help us out! We really are a big team.
