Several years ago, the NCCDD supported a “Partners in Justice” initiative to raise awareness, educate the court system, law enforcement, etc… The amazing Bob Perske was a key leader in this initiative. The initiative was not specifically focused on youth but the aim was to advocate for broader protections needed in the criminal justice system for all with I/DD.
Please let me know if we can provide additional information.
Best,

Subject: DD Councils Juvenile Justice
Hello! I am writing to ascertain what projects other councils have in the area of juvenile justice. I’d love any information on what other councils are doing, and/or other promising programs that folks have come across. Many thanks!
