Subject: DD Councils new Florida ED

Hi Everyone,

The new Executive Director for the Florida DD Council has been hired.  Her name is Valerie Breen and she has a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be so valuable to the DD Act work.   Valerie has been with the Florida Brain Injury Association since 1997, first as its Director of Program Development and then, since 2004, as its Chief Executive Officer.  She is a certified social worker and has extensive experience with non-profits, federal grants, strategic planning, and serving individuals with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries and other neurological impairments.

Valerie’s effective date as the new Executive Director is March 20th.   We have provided Valerie with an FDDC email, so you are welcome to copy Valerie.  Her FDDC email is xxxxxx@fddc.org .

You all have been such an important source of information, insight, and comradery.   I have never met a group so willing to share knowledge, work and themselves to help each other be successful.   You welcomed me with open arms and I know you will do the same for Valerie.

Take care of yourselves.

Debra
