TN: Answer is ‘no’ to first two questions.

We don’t have a state ADA Coordinator per say. Each department has someone responsible for ADA compliance related to that department or agency’s services. Our state DOHR has an attorney in charge of ADA personnel matters for the state offices.

I often think about the value of a state ADA coordinator, to work across-the-board (executive branch) on ADA issues. To date, we have not taken that on as a priority activity.

Subject: DD Councils Question regarding composition of Council membership

Dear DD Executive Directors:

The VI DD Council is working on the documentation and other information for the change of DSA and legislation to formally establish the Council. We have been asked the following:

1.  How many DDC's have an ADA Coordinator on the Council?

2.  How many has the ADA Coordinator as part of their executive order or legislation?

3.  How many has an established relationship, partnership or collaboration with the ADA office within their state or territory?

We thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Sincerely,

Yvonne D. Petersen
