Call for videos!

Please share your maximum 3 minute housing model video with the Massachusetts Autism Housing Think Tank. We want to hear and see what principles and models are working for our community. Please post the video right here on this Facebook page by August 1st.

The video should illustrate a housing model. The model might be in existence, in creation, or just conceptual. If it is in existence, feel free to include suggestions on how you might do it differently.

It will be vetted by the think tank's planning committee against the consensus principles for inclusion on the think tank website. Thank you for your contribution to this effort!  (learn more on site OR background explanation below)

Background:

On September 10, 2016, a select group — comprising autistic individuals, family members, service providers, policy makers, finance professionals, developers, and designers — will sit down to address the challenge of autism housing in Massachusetts. The goal is to brainstorm housing options appropriate to the range of housing needs in the autism community, identifying models that might be built with public funds, private funds, or through public/private partnerships.

We are asking the general public to provide input to the Think Tank through this page. In particular, we wish to:

1) Identify a set of consensus principles against which housing models can be assessed. An example might be "autistic people should be able to change service providers without having to change where they live".

2) Solicit videos of up to three minutes illustrating a housing model. The model might be in existence, in creation, or just conceptual. If it is in existence, feel free to include suggestions on how you might do it differently. Please post a YouTube link to your video on this page by August 1st.
