NY DDPC spends 200,000 per year. We no longer conduct Partners in the traditional face to face format. Rather, it is conducted in a blended learning format
that includes live webcast. Live class session are generally 2-3 hours in length. We do two 8 session classes a year (spring and fall) and have about 70 graduates annually.
We do not have the Junior Partners Program now – but it is something we are definitely looking at.

Subject: States' Partners in Policymaking & Juniors Partners Programs
Dear DDC Executive Directors & Colleagues:
Good afternoon, hope all is well. In preparation of developing our new 5 Year State Plan, the DDC members are re-evaluating our Partners-in-Policymaking program, known as the DC Advocacy Partners program: http://www.dcpartners.iel.org/.
The DDC members have questions about other states’ Partners-in-Policymaking program. Specifically:
· What are the approximate costs to your DDC to implement and conduct the program in your state?
· What are the number of monthly sessions provided through your Partners-in-Policymaking program?
· How many total numbers of hours do the participants spend in those monthly sessions by the end of the program?
If your DDC implements a Junior Partners-in-Policymaking program:
a. What are the approximate costs for the program?
b. How many days and total hours do the young adults and students participate in the program?
Thanks so much for your assistance. I greatly appreciate it, and I look forward to hearing from you. May you and your family experience all the happiness and peace during the holiday season.
Best wishes, Mat

The cost to our CT DD Council is $60,000. Other costs are picked up by the UCEDD and the Office of Protection and Advocacy. We hold seven sessions and each session is 16 hours for a total of 112 hours. They also do homework and
a project, so the total number of hours invested by the participants may vary.

Hi Matt, our budget for Partners is $150K. We do the program in house and have moved to an every other year cycle for budgetary reasons. Partners come for 7 sessions beginning at 1pm on a Friday afternoon and ending at 3pm on Saturday.
Additional time is spent by them working on their projects. We do not get support from any other entity with respect to these costs. We don’t operate a juniors partners in policymaking program. We do have a youth leadership forum, also every other year.
Have a great holiday. Heidi
