Subject: October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month!
2015 is the 70th anniversary of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)!
NACDD’s Strategic Communications Subcommittee developed and curated resources to help DD Councils raise awareness during NDEAM (October). In August, the subcommittee
conducted a webinar that included actions DD Councils can take to highlight NDEAM and educate people about the importance of employing people with developmental disabilities. The webinar featured materials provided by the Office of Disability Employment Policy
(ODEP), social media tools, and a collaborative statewide campaign that is working to spread awareness.
The theme for ODEP’s 2015 NDEAM Campaign is, “My disability is one part of who I am.”
