We recently hosted Tina Campanella from DC.  She’s on the supported decision making board something….  And she’s a member of the DC DDC as I recall.  I thought she was fabulous.  Did keynote and breakout and both were excellent.

I am forwarding this announcement for two reasons.  1) to let you know that we’re hosting an Aging and Disability Conference with the Iowa Governor and 2) to ask if you have recommendations for speakers/topics.  I have taken the stance that rather than parallel tracks, we need sessions that relate well to both elders and people with disabilities.  Thus far, we’re looking at civic engagement, supported decision-making, employment, self-determination, HCBS.  If you have other suggestions let me know.  If you have particularly good speakers to recommend, let me know.  I appreciate any assistance you can provide to make this a good thing!  Becky
