Sherry,
So sorry to miss the conference and being with my friends and colleagues this time. I had to cancel since I had surgery to repair torn tendon in my arm yesterday. Not allowed to fly.
Ruptured it Sunday. Was urgent to have my bicep reattached to my forearm soon after the tear.
Looks like a couple good events. You are a great host.
Best,
Steve

Dear Colleagues:

The Nevada Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities (NGCDD) is excited to have DD Councils throughout the United States and its territories join us in Sparks, Nevada next week for the NACDD Annual Conference: Impacting Communities Side by Side.  I know some of you are coming a day early and attending the Nevada Disabilities Conference: Break Barriers-Open Doors.  I guarantee that both of these events will be truly valuable for your Councils as you work towards systems change and capacity building for the last year of your current state plan and the planning for your next 5-year state plan.

Now the fun stuff:

·         The weather in Sparks will be in the mid 80’s during the day with a low in the mid 50’s at night.  There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm on Tuesday.  We are a very dry climate so there will be no humidity (except for when the rain is falling).

·         A free JA Nugget shuttle will arrive every half an hour at the North end of the baggage claim area.  For those of you in need of fully accessible transportation, there will be a  bus meeting your needs in that same area every half an hour- JA Nugget will be posted on that bus.

·         The NGCDD will have a vendor table set up in the registration area and Jessica Hodges, NGCDD Executive Assistant; will be at that table to assist you with any information you need on where to eat, what to see and how to get there.

·         Bring your swim suit as the JA Nugget has a beautiful indoor swimming pool/hot tub that has sky windows that open and an outside area for soaking up the sun which gives you the option of man-made temperature control or mother nature’s.

We know you are going to love your visit to Northern Nevada!

Travel safely.
