New Executive Director Sought for
Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities

After 35 years of service Suellen Jackson-Boner will retire as executive director effective June 30, 2015. A national search is being mounted to identify candidates. Christine Dahlberg who is the Council’s deputy director has been designated interim executive director.

The Council is recruiting for an Executive Director who possesses creativity, leadership and initiative to carry out the goals of the Council.  Candidates must possess a broad knowledge of disabilities and a demonstrated capacity to administer a multi-faceted program.  The Executive Director must also have experience in organizational management including personnel supervision and be knowledgeable about public policy, legislation and the activities of agencies which administer programs and/or advocate for people with disabilities.  Strong applicants must be well versed on key fed legislation affecting people with disabilities. 

The board of the Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities has established a search committee and will be issuing information about the application process as well as a position description and salary parameters in the next few weeks.
