Dear Members,

Utah People First is willing to print and bring copies of Dr. Tanya Whitehead's book on 'Social Power' with us to the National Conference.  We would need your order no later than JUNE 16, 2015 so we can print them and bring them with us.  Each book is $15 and we can accept cash or a check to "Utah People First".  See the attached letter.

Tanya will actually be attending the conference with us as we have a new PF adviser training we have worked with her to create and we will be doing a break-out session with her about that curriculum.

NACDD Annual Conference/Technical Assistance Institute (TAI) Update

NACDD/ITACC looks forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming Annual Conference and TAI in Sparks, Nevada – July 21-23. Please share the conference update below with the appropriate staff and Council members.  

The Chairperson Leadership Training will be Tuesday, July 21st from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  

Tentative Chairperson Leadership Training topics include:

·         Effective Council Chair Leadership (Leadership Skills: Communication, Participation, Diversity & Assessment)

·         Leading the Charge (Communicating the Mission and Purpose of DD Councils)

·         Working Side-by-Side (Leadership & Fostering Relationships)

·         Resources & Information

NACDD’s Annual Conference, “Impacting Communities Side-by-Side” will be held July 21st -22nd and feature concurrent sessions on self-advocacy, diversity, reaching the underserved, policy issues, building community and more.

The Technical Assistance Institute (TAI) will be held Thursday July 23rd

 This year's Institute will focus on the new State plan template and the development of a new Annual Work Plan document. 

 There will be sessions on improving goals, objectives, and outcomes and other information and training on the elements related to federal reporting requirements.
