HOPALONG CASSIDY

Roger

From long timer to another, buckaroo buddy,   I will deeply miss you.   It seems we both have  cut our teeth on the DD Act .  I have always admired your style and your ability to get things done.  You have combined savior - faire with a Texas flare of mastering the Rodeo.

I wish you good health , happiness and a great next adventure as you ride into the sunset, on a live horse.  My Hat goes off  to you .

Happy Trails to you until we meet again

Subject: Time for a Change

Friends,

As you may have heard, I announced to my Council last week my resignation from TCDD and my retirement from state service effective June 12, 2015.  I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working for the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities for over 31 years, including nearly 30 years as Executive Director.  I truly value the mission of Councils to create change so that individuals with developmental disabilities have meaningful opportunities be fully included in all other aspects of life.  DD Council’s offer us a unique opportunity to impact people’s lives in a positive way and hopefully make a difference.  And I’ll certainly miss the many wonderful Council members and staff that I’ve had the pleasure to know over these years – it really is a community.  Even so, it’s time to move on, likely to relocate out-of-state, and to take time to enjoy family, friends, travel and other pursuits.

Thanks for the memoriesT.

Roger
