Travis,

Please find attached, our logo as well as the logo of our DSA. Our logo was created by a former Council member who used to live in one of MO’s institutions – he is an amazing artist.

About 15 or so years ago, we established our own website using an independent contractor rather than stay within our DSA’s website. We had published information about closing institutions that didn’t go over so well with the DSA (we were grandfathered in so our DSA includes the DD Service agency). We also changed our email addresses at the same time as we had the same domain as the DSA that was also causing issues with the DSA directing what we could and could not include on the website and what information we could and could not share with the public.

With divesting from the usage of the email domain and having our own, independent website, we have worked hard to ensure that the DSA does not interfere with our work. We have also worked to ensure that the public, advocacy groups, family groups and others, know that we are autonomous from our DSA. We would not participate in a rebranding of logos with our DSA and would not have a sub-logo as that would be a slippery slope of everyone thinking that we are directed by the DSA.

Hope this information helps.

Vicky

Subject: DD Councils Comparison of DD Council Logo vs. DSA Logo

Good afternoon,

I’m reaching out to get some examples of what your DD Council’s logo looks like compared to the logo of your designated state agency (DSA)?

Our DSA is currently undergoing a rebranding effort. This rebranding would replace our current logo with a sub-logo that primarily uses the DSA’s main logo.

I wanted to reach out to other Council’s to see if you could provide us with examples of what your Council’s current logo looks like compared to the DSA’s logo? If you’ve experienced a similar ‘rebranding’ effort with your DSA, please let me know how that process unfolded.

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!
