Hi,
In Guam, the DD Office does not provide direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities.  The agency, Department of Integrated Services for Individuals with Disabilities, handles case management services and refers to the agency that provides the services for follow-up.

Hi Mary,

When an individual/family files an appeal regarding a service decision it is heard by an impartial Administrative Law Judge.

Subject: DD Councils Hearing officers for grievances

In Nebraska, the Director of our DD Services serves as the hearing officer when people file grievances or disputes about decisions made by their office regarding eligibility, service amounts, etc. A question has arisen about the need to have an impartial hearing officer at the agency level. Could you tell me who in your state hears these complaints or grievances – an employee of the agency or an impartial hearing officer? Thanks.
