Subject: Supporting Access For Everyone (SAFE) Initiative

Greetings—

I am reaching out to inquire if you might be able to help us spread the word to state/regional DD councils (and related constituents) about the Supporting Access For Everyone (SAFE) Initiative, a national collaboration of stakeholders supported by AUCD and MCHB/DBPNet to develop consensus-based best practices around supporting youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities in medical settings. If you believe your members/affiliates would be interested in submitting their perspectives and/or attending our upcoming public forum, please consider distributing the attached email ad and/or the ‘blurb’ social media text below. We are actively seeking all stakeholders (parents, self advocates, medical professionals, and beyond) to engage with this effort.

Supporting Access for Everyone (SAFE), the DBPNet-supported initiative to establish best practices for supporting youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities in medical settings, will host a free online public forum on October 6-7 from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. EST. Both days will open with a research-based presentation, followed by testimonies submitted by community stakeholders from across the country, including self-advocates, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers. View the agenda here.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your consideration!

Cy
