Dear NACDD Member:

This year NACDD’s Board of Directors will begin the process of developing and implementing a long-range strategic plan. For NACDD, this is an opportunity to work together to define the Association’s direction and to help the Association allocate its resources appropriately in order to pursue its goals. NACDD, under the leadership of President Molly Cole (ED of the Connecticut DD Council), is in the process now of putting together a Strategic Planning Committee to discuss and design a strategy for setting goals, determining actions to achieve the goals, and mobilizing resources in order to execute the actions.

We are looking for those who want to serve on the Strategic Planning Committee! This opportunity is open to those who are DD Council Executives, staff, DD Council members and self-advocates. A variety of voices is needed. This activity will take time and work – some meetings will be via phone and work may be conducted via email or document sharing and there will likely be some face-to-face meetings. Please consider this role carefully before submitting a notice that you wish to serve. If you are NOT a DD Council Executive Director it might be helpful to discuss this opportunity with your Director to be sure that he/she can support you with needed resources for this effort when appropriate.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me or Molly Cole at xxxxxx@ct.gov. If you wish to serve on the Committee please submit your name and preferred contact information to:

Sonia Vega at xxxxxx@nacdd.org. Write Strategic Planning Committee in the subject line and a note that indicates your role within the organization such as Executive Director or DD Council Member, or Communications staff person. Sonia can also be reached via phone at 202-506-5813.

Thank you!

Donna
