On June 24, 2022, I will be retiring from the Kansas Council on Developmental Disabilities. I am looking forward to spending more time with my wife, traveling and working on my farm. I have served as the Kansas Executive Director for a little over 10 years now and it has been a wonderful experience. For the 33 years prior to this I worked for a large nonprofit providing disability services.
When accepting the position, little did I know that one of the highlights of this job would be getting to know all the other Executive Directors and staff from the others states. I have had the privilege to work with many of you as NACDD Board President 2019-2021. I believe we are very fortunate to have a great National organization with strong well qualified staff and leadership.
The Council has not announced the new ED yet but knowing that you will all welcome and help the next Kansas Executive Director in this important work makes my leaving much easier. As I visit other states I think of each of you and the great work you are doing. Vicki and I plan on traveling to all the states, and hopefully all the territories as well over the next few years.
Thank you all, not only for all the help, but for being the most welcoming and creative people that I have ever known.
See ya all down the road,
