Subject: EVENT: LIVE FROM THE FRONTLINES: HOW WE FIGHT BACK AGAINST VOTER SUPPRESSION IN THE STATES RIGHT NOW--January 14th at 7pm ET
In January, the Senate sidelined federal voting rights legislation that would have addressed state voter suppression laws that purposefully target people of color, people with disabilities,
and poor people. Since then, states have continued to introduce and pass laws that make it harder for people to vote. No matter where you live, you can help in the fight to get voters to the polls and to repeal these shameful laws.
NACDD is proud to co-sponsor “Live from the Frontlines: How We Fight Back Against Voter Suppression in the States Right Now” in partnership with the Workers Circle and the Center
for Common Ground on Tuesday, June 14, from 7:00-8:00pm ET. Register
now! ASL and close captioning will be provided.
We’ll converse with Andrea Miller, Founder of the Center for Common Ground, a people of color-led
organization that fights voter suppression and empowers underserved communities to connect voters of color with the information they need to vote by mail and to vote early in person.
You’ll learn how you can combat suppressive voting laws while equipping voters with the information they need to surmount the barriers placed in their way. Andrea will also discuss examples of
good state legislation that protects the right to vote.
Register now
for “Live from the Frontlines: How We Fight Back Against Voter Suppression in the States Right Now” and help spread the word
