We don’t have a policy, but operate similar to how Heidi described.  All Facebook posts are approved by me and all staff submit ideas.  We actually have three FB pages – one for the Council and one for each of our two grassroots advocacy networks.  It is difficult to have enough content for all three but we do our best.

I also approve changes/additions to our website.

Regarding our Council members’ use of social media (as private citizens), I drafted a social media policy for the Council’s consideration but the Executive Committee thought what I developed was too restrictive and they did not approve it.

I will have to find ours when I get back from vacation. It is one used by all the disability services agencies (DSA).  We are going to have one on our own. I can check and see where we are on that. It has not been a priority. We have FAcebook and will have linked in soon. We are not doing twitter at this point becausee it requires too much interaciton and we dont have staff time to tweet. Like, NY we are a state agency but we control our own content on the website and as well as Facebook. And when the DSA policy was developed we made it clear that we had the independence to post as we saw fit. Our content is not approved or filtered by anyone although obviously we are careful We have had a few comments by others we have had to hide.  But other than that, it has been successful and widened our reached.  I and my communciations director are the only people to post on FB. Other staff send ideas and and we determine what should go up.  We try to post once or twice a day at most.
