>Autistic Self-Advocacy Network (ASAN) New Resources
(English and Spanish videos)
COVID-19 is especially dangerous to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, so
it’s important that we get the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. But a lot of information out there about the vaccine is not written in ways that are accessible to us. That’s why
ASAN has released
a new plain language and Easy Read fact sheet about the COVID-19 vaccine.
This fact sheet answers questions like:
This new fact sheet is part of a series of resources on COVID-19 that ASAN has created ourselves or in collaboration with partners like Green Mountain Self Advocates and Rooted in Rights.
These resources include
videos in both English and Spanish, the plain-language
A Self-Advocate’s Guide to COVID-19, and our
COVID-19 tracker. We hope you’ll find our new fact sheet helpful and share it with the people in your life.

>The AUCD Annual Meeting was in December 2020. The theme was Achieving Equity: Leading the Way in the Next Decade. A recording of the opening plenary is linked
below. An opening pause (1 minute) and introduction to the conference takes up approximately the first 15 minutes so you may want to advance the recording. Afterward, Daniel Dawes speaks and then facilitates a diverse panel. Though this information is on
the political determinants of health equities, it provides an equity framework that can be used across the board with respect to individual with DD and their families. You will also hear personal and professional experiences from each panelists. Very timely
information, given the pandemic.
REMINDER: The next NACDD SA Discussion Series will be Thursday, February 18th at 4pm Eastern. More information to come!
