Dear colleagues
I am wondering if any of your states are able to share resources for participant/family friendly guidance regarding DD services?
Earlier this year I saw some great examples of Councils’ and other state’s work around Covid, often from an individual perspective (what is it, prevention, treatment, etc). That is still so relevant.
Here, cases are going up and the state is working very hard to maintain access to services and supports (vs being shut down, which had its own set of problems, but communication was pretty standard).
Public health guidance regarding DD services is now on a county level that changes by case rate every 7-14 days so it is can be difficult to keep track of what is “allowed” (is my county green yellow or red? What if I live in a green county
and my services are in a red county?), never mind figuring out what to do if there’s a problem with your services.
I know it’s a big ask, but any ideas/resources for public health communication that’s effective for people with dd and their families when guidance changes really fast would be much appreciated.
