Subject: JOIN US TOMORROW! NACDD SA Discussion Series on VOTING - October 15, 2020 at 4:00 pm Eastern

The National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD) with support from Anthem, is excited to host its second Self-Advocacy Discussion Series, and all are welcome!

The second Self-Advocacy Discussion Series will be held on October 15, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

The Topic is Voting: Information, Resources and Experience

IMPORTANT: This discussion series is not about politics. We will NOT be discussing who you are voting for or the Democratic versus the Republican parties. This discussion series is about the right to vote and how we can support each other to do so.

Discussion questions to think about for the second NACDD SA Discussion Series.

1) If you have voted in the past, what was your experience? Do you have any questions or concerns about voting?
2) How have you helped others to understand how important it is to vote?
3) Why is participating in the election important to you?

The Self-Advocacy Discussion Series will be led by Eric Stoker, Information Specialist for the Utah DD Council, NACDD Board Member, Chair of the NACDD Self-Advocacy Committee (SAC), NACDD Champions of Equality Award winner and member of the  Self-Advocacy Leadership Circle.

Liz Weintraub, Senior Advocacy Specialist/Public Policy Team at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) and Emily Kranking, Communications Consultant, NACDD will join Eric for our discussion on voting.

If you need accommodations, please contact xxxxxx@nacdd.org<mailto:xxxxxx@nacdd.org> or call 202-506-5813. Feel free to share this email with your advocacy networks.
