Hi Patricia

Thanks for sharing Daintry! I also wanted to share NACDD/ITACC’s resources from our itacchelp.org website’s Diversity, Inclusion and Cultural and Linguistic competence pages. https://itacchelp.org/itacc-diclc-work-group-webinars/

Please see the webinar materials listed below, including PowerPoints, the webinar recording with Tawara Goode and DD Councils and a language access resource document with additional links to information. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. I am happy to help.

Aloha,

In Hawaii we are fortunate to have the Office of Language Access (OLA) help us with all our needs for individuals who do not speak English.  Here is their link https://health.hawaii.gov/ola/about-us/ perhaps it can be of use to you Patricia?  Their Director, AP, is wonderful.  I would call and ask him for something, but I am not 100% sure what you need.  Feel free to call him directly, let him know I referred you to him.  He may be able to help?

Stay well,

Subject: [EXTERNAL] DD Councils Language Access Plans

In accordance with federal law, our Council is putting together a language access plan for individuals who want to participate in our programs but are not fluent in English. I have found some guidance from CMS and have found access plans for several NH state agencies, but I was wondering if any other DDCs have developed one of these plans. If you have, would you be willing to let me take a look at it?

Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated.
