Please join us on at 3 PM November 15th for the first in a triannual series of information-sharing webinars on Health and  Health Related Emergency Preparedness and Response for our Administration on Disabilities (AOD) networks.  This first webinar is entitled “Government Roles and Responsibilities: Addressing the Health and Wellbeing of People with Disabilities in Disasters." It will feature representatives from ASPR and State and Local planners and is designed to address knowledge and information gaps that our grantees and recent events have called to our attention.
 
Please Note: We have a limited number of lines for this webinar so we strongly encourage people from the same offices to call together whenever possible to maximize the opportunity for as much participation as possible.

On November 15th, ACL will host the first in a series of quarterly webinars for the Administration on Disabilities to provide information on disaster activities. This webinar will describe “Government Roles and Responsibilities: Addressing the Health and Wellbeing of People with Disabilities in Disasters." Presenters include the HHS/ASPR Senior Advisor on At-Risk Individuals (Cheryl Levine, PhD), Arizona’s Bureau Chief for Public Health Emergency Preparedness (Teresa Ehnert), and Pierce County, Washington’s Access and Functional Needs Coordinator (Serina McWha). This webinar will provide a summary of guidance and frameworks that are used at the federal, state, and local levels for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery activities. Speakers will describe the specific roles and responsibilities at the federal, state, and local levels, working with partners (including the Disability Network), and opportunities for increasing coordination in disaster activities to address the access and functional needs of people with disabilities.
