Kristin was on the phone call with Kari and me while we discussed the error issues and loss of data with Courtney (the data person).  Kristin and Us were having the exact same issues and Courtney made the comment that we were the only ones having issues.  I told her that probably other people were not complaining and just saying it is what it is.  I'm gonna throw out on the list serve tomorrow a question as to who is having problems.  She said she can't fix it if she can't duplicate it.  I received two errors today that I was not authorized and I am the person who authorizes everyone in our office.  Argh!  This system sucks!

Hi Mat,

You are right!   The issue of accessibility was brought up during the webinar - and it was noted that this was one way to provide the information - but ultimately, the selection of method to provide the 5-year logic model is up to the individual Council.  Councils can can provide a jpeg and also provide a full narrative of the logic model, just provide the narrative, or also choose to create the information as a table.  I believe the developers also indicated you could link to a Council website (not an internal shared drive file) where a 5-year logic model would be posted.

If Councils are using a pdf, use the accessibility tools to ensure the information is fully accessible to all readers.

Of course, accessibility it key! Councils should make sure the information is available and accessible to all people, regardless of the document type.

Dear Joanna and Friends:

Good afternoon.  Thanks for the tip.  If the PDF document has to be changed into a jpeg in order for the 5 Year Logic Model to be downloaded into the ACL Reporting System, this tells me that parts of the Reporting System are not fully accessible to Blind and low vision DDC staff dependent on screen reading technologies and submitting the required content for the State Plan.  I’m not quite sure how many staff currently use screen reading technologies and will be impacted; however, as an Association, we need to communicate with ACL staff that the new reporting system needs to be Section 508 compliant and all content submitted by the ACL grantees through the system is fully accessible and readable.

Thanks so much and best wishes, Mat

Oop! I typed these instructions and goof – I meant, “… drag and drop each jpeg into the box for the logic model.” SORRY

HI everyone!

Josh at the TX Council shared a great tip for adding your 5-year logic model to the ACL Reporting System:

·         Save (your doc) as a pdf

·         Save the pdf as a jpeg (it breaks it down into individual pages)

·         With the screen showing both the platform and the pdf, drag and drop each pdf into the box for the logic model.
