TCDD Seeks Grants Specialist
The Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) is accepting applications for its Grants Specialist position until May 20, 2016. The Grants Specialist provides
guidance and technical assistance to TCDD grantees, oversees project implementation, and coordinates grant management functions.
The Grants Specialist is selected by and is accountable to the Grants Management Director. The Grants Specialist provides
programmatic guidance and technical assistance to all TCDD projects and grantees. The Grants Specialist is responsible for oversight of project implementation, including negotiating, maintaining and updating project work plans, ensuring budget information
is in compliance with state and federal regulations, the detection of barriers, issues and the identification of recommendations for corrective action, and facilitating outcomes consistent with Council goals. Work is performed under general supervision with
considerate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Work includes:

Performing research and analysis of best and promising practices that can be integrated into project activities.

Routine monitoring and reporting of grantee progress and project outcomes. Oversee and approve budget expenses according to state and federal guidelines. Ensure grantee adheres
to project timelines and deliverables.

Develop materials and make presentations to the Council and represent the Council on committees and work groups as needed.

Synthesize grant materials and provide summaries to public policy and planning divisions as needed to prepare advocacy documents and annual reports.

Performs other duties as assigned and required to meet the mission and goals of the department.

Extensive overnight travel sufficient to perform the duties is required between 30-40%.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university.
Major course work in public administration, public health, social work, rehabilitation education, special education, or psychology preferred.

Experience: One (1) year experience in grants and contract management
or program planning and evaluation. Prefer two (2) years' experience in conducting fiscal and program monitoring of federal grants and contracts awarded to sub-recipients. Prefer experience related to people with disabilities.
Salary & Benefits: The Grants Specialist
is a full-time position with a salary range of $3,520.33 - $4,633.50 monthly. As an employee of the State of Texas, this position has access to excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, a retirement program, paid state holidays, and more.
