We’ve received a request from someone with whom we work who is looking for instructional materials (DVDs, curricula, etc.) on a wide array of topics that are straightforward in presentation, but not geared to children. The interest was originally sparked when searching for materials that could be used for health promotion/exercise/wellness strategies. Many of the available materials that have information considered to be developmentally appropriate are full of little kid-disms (small people in every frame-- while completely adorable, not so cool in a presentation to adults.)
Can any of you share educational materials that would be both developmentally appropriate and geared to adults with intellectual disabilities? If so, can you provide topics covered or refer us to a list? If they are materials your Council developed/funded, is there a specific process that people would have to use to request these materials if your Council funded them?
Thanks in advance for any help!
