Shortly, Senator Harkin is expected to ask for unanimous consent for the disability treaty, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.  Senator Harkin will ask for unanimous consent and if no one objects, then the treaty will pass.  If one person objects, then the treaty will not pass.  The treaty has been brought up for unanimous consent before in September 2012 and that failed, which then led to a vote in December 2012 which also failed by a recorded vote.  If the treaty fails unanimous consent this afternoon, it can still come up in November or December of this year.  See below for information to watch Senator Harkin speak today on the Senate floor and make this request.
