Good morning
Just a friendly reminder to please read below and send your strategies/ideas on obtaining public input for five year state plan development by
May 1st.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, have you had to alter your strategies, develop new ways to capture information, consider the digital divide and other cultural and linguistic competence considerations? All ideas
are welcome. ITACC knows this is a busy time for us all so we appreciate your responses.
DD Council Network members,
During the last state plan cycle, the ITACC staff collected
public input strategies used by DD Councils for state plan development. See a summary of some of those strategies below.
· Focus groups/town halls/community conversations to address barriers to services and
supports;
· Structured interviews (phone or in person);
· Providing surveys in multiple formats and languages;
· Webinars with targeted audiences (Providers, families, advocates, or other professionals)
to obtain specific information;
· Inclusion on meetings with taskforces, stakeholders, and committees to share surveys
or gather information; and
· Use platform such as Survey Monkey to solicit public responses on DD Council priority
areas.
If you have updates to these strategies or NEW strategies to share, please send
them directly to me by
May 1st
at xxxxxx@nacdd.org
or call me at 410-236-9920.
ITACC staff will provide additional strategies in combination with DD Council submittals to update the Public Input Strategies
resource document for 2022-2026.
Thank you in advance for sharing your ideas and strategies.
Stay healthy and safe,
Angela
