• PA GRANTS ON COVID – Community Response Projects are supported for up to $5,000 over a 6-month time frame and will be awarded to community-based organizations that provide supports to people with developmental disabilities who have been affected by a local, statewide, or national, natural disasters. This can include, but is not limited to, addressing concerns related to the Covid-19 pandemic. Community Response Project funding should be used to develop training or increase accessibility to information for individuals with developmental disabilities and their family members. • New York previously supported a “Self-Advocacy in Diversity” grant to increase the diversity of our self-advocacy group. The DDPC is happy to announce a new partnership with the Self-Advocacy Association of New York State (SANYS). In October, the DDPC began a grant project to help build SANYS organization's ability to engage with diverse self-advocates across New York State. As part of this grant initiative, SANYS will build relationships with community-based organizations serving diverse populations and make the organization more accessible to a variety of culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
