Hello CEI Councils,

First of all, Happy New Year!! I hope the holiday season gave you an opportunity to rest, reflect and spend some joyous time with friends and family. Secondly, I wanted to send you a reminder about sending me a brief summary of where your respective council is in relation to civic engagement development and programming.

We met with Wendy Spencer, CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), just before the holiday break to discuss a potential partnership between the CEI councils and CNCS. Wendy and her staff are very interested in expanding service learning and volunteering in the disability community and are excited about the possibilities of partnering with us. To help facilitate this process we want to present to Wendy and her staff at CNCS an overview of where our CEI councils are and their plans for the future. 

This is where you come in. Below is what we need from each of you by close of business this Thursday, January 8th.

- A brief (5 - 7 lines) description of where your DD Council is in its civic engagement development.

Including (If Appropriate):

- 1 or 2 key civic engagement projects or initiatives you’re current involved in.

-  Public or private organizations with which you are partnered.
